A cappella music is the simpliest yet the most complicated form of sound art. The easiest to understand, and close to folk music. However, such simplicity is extremely difficult to achieve. An a capella performance with the effect of contemporary art requires first-class performers, real multitalents.
Voca People is a group of strange beings dressed in white. The Voca People claim to come from the Planet Voca (somewhere behind the sun) where all communication is based on music and vocal expressions and where the concepts of envy and jealousy are unknown. The sounds express stirring creative freedom and buoyancy.
Voca People is a very exceptional a cappella vocal ensemble where behind the white costumes there are extremely talented singers. Their repertoire is as extensive as their vocal range. The concert suits all audiences since the a cappella ensemble can imitate the sounds of orchestra while combining beat-box and complicated polyphonic singing. The festival performance will include most various pieces, beginning from the famous melodies by Mozart and Beethoven, the widely known opera arias and ending with catchy pieces of rock classics by Queen and from American film industry as well as today's pop music hits etc. The wide variety of their repertoire will please different audiences.
Voca People has performed in almost all cities around the world. The ensemble reminds of Blue Man Group, only that Voca people is white, melodical and offers a much wilder experience. Voca people have performed in Birgitta Festival also in 2011 and 2012. There performances were a huge hit among the audience, that also being the reason why they return to this year's festival programme. Their show in Luxembourg was described as a "truly intergalactical phenomenon".
