Mirror is the first solo album by beloved composer Tõnu Kõrvits in ECM’s New Series. The album was released in March 2016. It features Reflections from a Plain for mixed choir and cello, Labyrinths for string orchestra, and Song of the Plainland for voice, kannel, and string orchestra—an ingenious arrangement of Veljo Tormis’ song of the same name. The album also includes the extensive work Seven Dreams of Seven Birds for cello, mixed choir, and string orchestra, as well as The Last Ship for male choir, bass drum, and string orchestra, based on Veljo Tormis’ composition of the same name. The album concludes with Song for cello and string orchestra.
